Celebrating National Pizza Day at the Branson Landing

Our experience at The Mellow Mushroom Branson

By Cassy Cochrun February 9, 2023

Happy National Pizza Day! This is one holiday my kids would never allow me to miss, so we headed to The Mellow Mushroom on the landing for some cheesey goodness.

If you've never stepped inside The Mellow Mushroom, you've surely noticed it on the landing. The can't-miss giant mushroom statue out front is the perfect photo backdrop, and we loved that the menu was posted outside so that we could think about what we might order before we even sat down.

Anytime pizza is on the menu, my kids are in. But I really loved that there were some creative pies on the menu as well. Next time, I want to try the Kosmic Karma pizza, with sheep's milk feta cheese and a pesto swirl (if I wasn't so full of pizza right now, I'd be drooling). But for today, we got the Mighty Meaty, and everyone in the family loved it.

Our server was also kind and attentive. Our kids got crayons and a coloring/activity sheet immediately, so they had plenty to keep them busy while our pizza was cooking. And the amazing murals on the wall helped distract us, too. We loved trying to see it all – there is a LOT to look at.

Our server suggested double-slicing the pizza (essentially cutting each piece of pizza in half) so that it would be easier for the kids to handle. What a thoughtful suggestion! We took him up on it, and the kids were so excited to help serve everyone their slices. And by the way – the smaller slices were WAY easier for the kids to handle…and me, too!

We ordered a medium for the three of us, and it was plenty. We even took home leftovers! It actually was a very cost-effective lunch. We were all thoroughly impressed with our experience and, of course, the pizza! We'll be back – way before next year's Pizza Day.
